About Kathryn Brenne
Canadian Kathryn Brenne is a graduate of Ryerson University’s Fashion Design program. She works as a Vogue Pattern Designer.
With her extensive knowledge of fabrics and sewing techniques, Kathryn is the most prolific writer in the industry. She has published hundreds of sewing related articles for Sew Today, THREADS, Butterick Home Catalogue, SewNews, Consumers Digest and Vogue Patterns. Kathryn founded The Academy of Fine Sewing & Design in 2000. Located in North Bay Ontario Canada, the school attracts students from around the world. The school is dedicated to helping the home sewer achieve success by providing professional instruction and techniques in a fully equipped facility. Kathryn travels to lecture and teaches at various sewing shows and conferences across Canada, the US and the UK.
Each year Kathryn leads group tours to Paris/London and New York. The trips are focused on sewing, knitting, fashion and culture.
In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. Her interests include travel, knitting, swimming, hiking and downhill skiing.
